How it started

Al Ritmo’s story begins with a message from a dance teacher seeking travel advice for her students wanting to visit the Dominican Republic. This seemingly ordinary request ignited a vision in Selçuk, a passionate dancer who had lived and worked in more than 10 countries.

Fluent in Spanish and boasting a vast network in Latin America thanks to his studies, Selçuk also possesses valuable experience in the travel industry, having previously co-founded “Charlie’s Travels” in Kenya. He recognized a distinct opportunity: no one was specifically catering to the unique needs of dancers seeking to explore the origins of their dance, and no one was better set up to do it than him.

Fueled by curiosity, wanderlust and a deep appreciation for diverse cultures, Selçuk, founded Al Ritmo Travels with a vision to connect dancers with the origins of their dance.

Having lived all around the globe, he witnessed firsthand the joyful value of travel and cultural exchange beyond the typical touristic path. And what’s better to combine this with the dance you love? This inspired him to create Al Ritmo Travels, a travel company that allows dancers to not only learn more about their dance by immersing themselves with local (dance) cultures, but also to go off the beaten track and discover all the other treasures the countries have to offer.
