I’ve lived in ten countries and I dance salsa and bachata several nights a week here in the Netherlands. What always bothered me: dance trips that could be anywhere — a resort, a workshop room, a pool. You fly nine hours and never meet the country.
So Al Ritmo trips are half dancing, half understanding where the music comes from. You dance with locals in Santo Domingo, and you also stand in the streets where bachata was recorded, eat where the musicians eat, and hear the history from people who lived it.
